Pearl and Dingy

My dear, sweet Santa Claus. Please let me introduce myself. You may not know me because this time last year I smelled like pigs. Yes, you heard me right, I was bunking with a herd of large farm pigs and, as kind as they were to me, ahem, excuse me for saying this, but … they do have quite an odor. It took me a while to get it out of my nose!

Well, I had a little boy who cared for me and Santa, please send him something very nice this year.  He was sad to say goodbye to me, but he knew that here I would be with other camelids and that I’d have a nice warm barn to snuggle in – and I do, and I snuggle with Dingy who is my best friend. Ever since my arrival, Dingy the llama has taken me under his wing. I love him so much and we are always together. I thought that maybe Marguerite, the other alpaca here, would be glad to see me. Boy, was I wrong! Talk about snooty, hoity toity and stuck up! But it’s ok, I have my Dingy-doo.

Santa, please don’t send Marguerite a halter. She just spits when you try to put one on her. And she’s not allowed to borrow mine. Just saying.

Let’s be practical for a moment, dear Santa. Every month we camelids have to get a shot. It protects us from something called the “deer worm”. That’s a worm that can make us super super sick. The medicine has a funny name: Dectomax. It says it’s for swine and cattle and I’m not either of those, but the medicine is OK to use on alpacas. Now Santa, I’m a bit of a thrifty girl so I did some research and here is what I found:  If you get the dectomax from Valley Vet, and you order 10 needles (which we do need but don’t like), then shipping will be FREE!!!!!  (I did really well at math in school).
