Big Al
Hey hey hey and ho ho ho Mr. Santa Claus!
I just wanted to let you know (OK, I’m actually telling anyone who will listen): I’m coming up on my first anniversary of meeting the love of my life Copper. (She’s the one squishing my face in the photo – she’s like that, bless her heart.) Back in the day I was a confirmed bachelor. I’d stay up all hours, I roamed the streets, ate right out of the pan, never picked up after myself and sometimes I kept bad company. I’m ashamed to admit it now, but I even used bad language.
But my human was very discerning. Frankly I’d advise every rabbit to take up company with a discerning human because we rabbits are sometimes hard to read, We’re not OBVIOUS like dogs who make such a lot of noise. We’re subtle. We’re introverted. We rarely complain even if there is a terrible lot to complain about. I was really lonely. Despite my “I’m doing it MY way” proclamations, when all was said and done, I needed a snuggle mate. And my human figured that out and took action!
Now Copper, she was an unwed mother and had a heck of a bad time of things. After that she was also a confirmed bachelorette but when we met … ooh la la.
Here’s the deal, Santa: Copper? She also never learned to keep house. We need daily maid service so that we don’t get reported to the health department because we are one messy bunny couple. We also like to party late into the night and we kind of throw our hay and bedding around. Look, we like to have a good time, ok? But having a better litter box would sure help. Ours is not in good shape (we’ve been chewing on it from time to time. Ok maybe more than a few times.) This one with a high side might be just the thing! https://tinyurl.com/litter-box-for-al
Now, this giant box could also work https://tinyurl.com/another-litter-box-for-al, although it affords us ever so slightly less privacy when we are in the mood for canoodling. But it’s nice and big!
No letter to Santa Claus would be complete without our asking for treats! Oh sure, there are lots of fattening treats out there, but frankly Santa, we really like the dried herbs and dried salads. Here is one: https://tinyurl.com/dry-salad-for-al-rabbit If you have time and are out and about in the herb fields, you’re welcome to select one that you think we’d enjoy!
So, this is kind of embarassing, but we’ve managed to pee on and warp the staircase on the first floor of our condo. Oh, didn’t you know that we are doing the condo living thing? Sure, we’re out in the country but no way are we going to live outdoors where there is dirt and flies and goodness knows what kind of creatures. No, we have a thee-story luxury apartment with, sadly, a badly broken staircase. Here it is, if you happen to be passing by the rabbit staircase shop: https://petwerks.myshopify.com/products/standard-condo-ramp-9-inch-x-32-inch
Now Santa, I need a sponsor. I need someone who thinks I’m just the bees knees (a human – we don’t want Copper to get jealous). Someone who might send me treats or come and visit me and brush me. Here is where a person can sign up to sponsor me! https://shop.stargazingfarm.org/product/al/
This has been a long letter and I’m bushed! But wow it’s been great to chat with you and I’m really looking forward to seeing you here at the farm on December 20!
Yours very truly,
Big Al
