Petey

Petey and Carmen Santa, Santa, Santa!

Did you know I’m the biggest guy on this farm? Are you the biggest guy on the North Pole? I think so!  Those elves are pretty short. It definitely gives us a certain je-ne-sais-quoi, doesn’t it?

Well Santa, I’m five and a half years old now so I think I’ve finally stopped growing. Santa, I’m really not one to complain but it hasn’t been an easy summer for me. A cow farrier had to come out and work on one of my feet because it had something icky in it and I’ll probably need another visit in the next month or two to check on my tootsies again. So I’ve slowed down and no longer have the turbocharged power I used to (scared the pants off of everyone when I ran after them, hee hee) but I can still walk through any fence I darn please, so there’s that.  And I’m ridiculously cute.

Also, I have to tell you that, very sadly, my best friend Carmen died this past year. She had a tumor in her belly. She was like a second mama to me and Wilbur and was just the sweetest, most gentle cow you could ever meet. She was blind, but she got around the farm just great! I’m showing you a picture of her and me together.  She was just the best.

Well Santa, now it’s just me and Wilbur who stir up trouble, but we do a pretty good job of it. When we can’t think of anything else to do, we just poop hundreds of pounds of cow pies everywhere. It gives the volunteers something to do. But they told me they need another wheelbarrow or two because, “it’s a lot of poop, Petey!”  https://tinyurl.com/wheelbarrow-for-petey

Santa, here is what I REALLY love: I love salt. Cows need salt and those pink salt blocks are just the best. You could send us a gift package of 6, or a single – we’ll love either one.  https://tinyurl.com/salt-pack-for-petey

Well, Santa, I have to confess that I’ve not always been a good boy. I mentioned fences? Yes, well, our handymen crew have to do a lot of fence repair when I decide to have a fence party. That means that they have to buy a lot of boards and charge up their power tools. They never yell at me but I’d feel much better if I could offer them some reciprocity. If you sent us a gift card for Home Depot they could go and purchase those new boards without grumbling quite as much.  What do you think? https://tinyurl.com/hd-gift-card-for-petey

Santa, would you send me a sponsor or two? They can come out and visit and I’ll give them lots of kisses and I’ll try really hard to not knock them down. https://shop.stargazingfarm.org/product/petey/

Santa, I can’t wait to see you on the 14th at our festival. https://shop.stargazingfarm.org/product/santas-holiday-festival-at-the-farm/ Everyone will be wearing Santa hats or elf hats and there will be such good food, too! Hot cocoa, hot cider, sweets! I hope you will invite me inside so I can sit on your lap.

It’s so good that you let us animals write to you every year. Would you consider a July visit, too?

Love love love,

Petey
